Drew Straker – Muralist
Over the Christmas break, during a period between terms when ‘Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse’, we had the opportunity to invite an artist into the workshop, with intention to liven up one of the biggest and whitest walls in the building. Putting out the call seemed to be the easiest part, choosing an artist amongst many interested individuals that responded to our classified add; ‘graffiti artist wanted’, was a little harder. Out of the many interested individuals, it was the response and portfolio from professional artist Drew Straker of Mastermind Murals (nationally recognised Perth based mural and graffiti artist) that got us really excited. We issued very little in terms of a brief, leaving the subject matter to Drew, and this is the fantastic artwork/mural that was left with us:
